We are so excited to share the incredible experience Team Clean had at the Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange, hosted by The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia. Our journey took us to the vibrant city of New Orleans, a place known for its unique blend of history, music, and cuisine. This event turned out to be an incredible adventure, full of personal growth and inspiration.
GPLEX is not your typical conference. It’s an intimate gathering that brings together over 175 individuals, along with an alumni network of more than 1,250 attendees. The primary objective? To establish social capital, deepen connections across various industries and sectors, and foster collaborations. We were thrilled to be part of this event, and looking forward to making new friends and forming valuable partnerships.
One of the highlights of this event was the opportunity to learn about best practices, programs, and policies from a wide range of organizations. We were eager to understand how this other city addressed challenges similar to those faced in the Greater Philadelphia region. New Orleans, with its unique history and vibrant culture, provided the perfect backdrop for this exchange of ideas.
During our time in New Orleans, we attended sessions on various topics, such as justice, community development, sustainability, and innovation. These sessions were led by industry experts and thought leaders, providing fresh perspectives on issues that affect our region. It was truly inspiring to see how different approaches have been used to address common challenges. One of the most inspiring moments was when our CEO, Donna Allie, took the stage as a panelist to discuss the crucial topic of justice and hiring reentry citizens. Of course, we couldn’t visit New Orleans without immersing ourselves in its rich culture. Our team took full advantage of our time in the Crescent City. We explored the historic neighborhoods, danced to the soulful melodies of jazz in the French Quarter, and indulged in the city’s world-renowned cuisine. The flavors of gumbo, jambalaya, and beignets left a lasting impression on all of us. We couldn’t help but be inspired by the passion and creativity that define New Orleans.
Our journey to GPLEX in New Orleans was an unforgettable experience. We forged new connections, gained invaluable knowledge, and witnessed the unique culture of the Crescent City.
